- SALVADOR DALI "WAILING WALL" LITHOGRAPHDESCRIPTION:
SALVADOR DALI "WAILING WALL" LITHOGRAPHDESCRIPTION: Salvador Dali's "The Wailing Wall" Original Hand Signed Lithograph on heavy art paper in a Limited Edition. Hand Signed by the Artist and Numbered 242/250. Lithograph depicting one of the most holy sites in Jerusalem, exemplifies the atmospheric style that characterizes much of Dali late work. Showing worshipers at the Western Wall, it depicts an act of devotion that takes place every day but lends it a haunting, dreamlike quality. Heightening the devotional atmosphere, Dalí has written on the wall in burgundy-hued Hebrew characters the words "Baruch HaShem," or "the blessed name," often used to mean "God willing." An ancient limestone wall sited in the Old City of Jerusalem, the Western Wall was part of the expansion of the Second Jewish Temple, overseen by King Herod the Great. The Wall encloses the Temple Mount, a holy site in Jewish, Muslim, and Christian traditions alike. For Jews, it is the holiest of places they are permitted to pray CIRCA: Mid Late 20th Century. ORIGIN: Spain. DIMENSIONS: Frame is Height 44 1/4" Width 33 1/4". Lithograph is H: 35" W: 24". CONDITION: Good condition. See lot description for details on item condition. - E. COBOS "ALCáZAR DE SEGOVIA" OIL ON
E. COBOS "ALCáZAR DE SEGOVIA" OIL ON CANVASE. Cobos (Spanish, 1928-?) framed oil on canvas painting depicting a fortified castle in Segovia, Spain. Frame is open face and measures approximately 24-1/2" in height by 21" in width with the sight image measuring approximately 21" in height by 17-3/4" in width. E. Cobos (1928-?) was born in Seville, Spain and attended the Academy of Art in Barcelona. The Alcázar of Segovia (literally, "Segovia Fortress") is a castle, located in the old city of Segovia, Spain. Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of two rivers near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. The Alcázar was originally built as a fortress but has served as a royal palace, a state prison, a Royal Artillery College and a military academy since then. It is currently used as a museum and a military archives building.

- VERO BEACH, FL 1926 YARD-LONG PHOTOHere
VERO BEACH, FL 1926 YARD-LONG PHOTOHere is what downtown Vero Beach looked like in August 16, 1926. This wide-angle view shows most of the streets and buildings in great detail, including the Vero Hotel and Restaurant and the Farmer's Bank. The open grassy center area has an entry sign that says Vero Beach Auto Park, and sure enough one old car is parked there. The photo is 39" x 8" and is lying on (not glued to) a backing cardboard. The photographer's name is in the lower right corner which has damage, so is not readily readable. The photo is in good condition for the most part, but had been rolled for years, and cracked and made creases when unrolled. There are 8 or 10 of these vertical fold lines visible, and the photo is far from lying flat. The right side has damage extending in several inches, surface emulsion loss, bad folds, large corner chip. Most of the damage is on the Drug Store building. The far left side also has many crinkle folds. Still a great view of the old city.
